Check Engine Light & Diagnostics in Las Vegas
A warning light tells you something is wrong. It doesn't tell you what. Our diagnostic service finds the actual cause, so you don't pay for parts that won't fix the problem.

The service
What diagnostics covers
Diagnostics is the testing that pins down why a fault is happening. That can mean reading the trouble codes your vehicle has stored, then going further: checking live data, testing the parts and circuits involved and confirming the cause before we recommend a repair. A code points us in a direction. Testing tells us the answer.
When to come in
Signs you need diagnostics
- Your check engine light is on, or it's flashing
- The engine runs rough, hesitates or stalls
- Your fuel economy has dropped for no clear reason
- There's a new noise, smell or vibration
- Another warning light has come on
- A problem comes and goes, and nobody's been able to find it
Our checks
What we check
- Stored and pending trouble codes
- Live engine and sensor data
- The specific systems the codes point to, such as ignition, fuel, emissions or sensors
- Wiring and connections where a fault could start
Which do you need?
Diagnostics vs. a complimentary inspection
The Free Vehicle Inspection includes checking, documenting and researching engine codes, along with the other listed checks. Further diagnostic testing to find out why a fault is happening is a paid service, and we'll always confirm it with you before that testing starts.
Process
How a visit works
- 1
Book a time. Call (702) 737-8381. Appointments are recommended.
- 2
Tell us what you've noticed. The more detail, the faster we get to the cause.
- 3
We inspect and explain. You'll hear what we found, what it means and what it will take.
- 4
You approve the work. Nothing gets repaired until you say yes.
- 5
We finish and walk you through it. You'll know what was done and anything to keep an eye on.
What you get
What's included, and what isn't
- Included: testing to find the cause, and a clear explanation of what we found and how to fix it.
- Not included: the repair itself. That's quoted separately, and you decide whether to go ahead.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Can I keep driving with the check engine light on?
- It depends on the cause. A steady light usually means get it checked soon. A flashing light can mean a problem that may damage the engine or catalytic converter, so call us before you drive much further.
- Is diagnostics free?
- Checking, documenting and researching engine codes is included in the Free Vehicle Inspection. Further diagnostic testing is a paid service, and we'll confirm it with you before that testing starts.
- What does the Free Vehicle Inspection include?
- Check Dash Warning Lights. Check Engine Codes - Document & Research. Check Battery - Visual & Battery Tester. Check Wiper Blades. Check All Lights. Check Air Filters. Check For Fluid Leaks. Check & Top Off All Fluids. Check Hoses & Belts. Check/Measure Brake Pads & Brake Rotors. Check Tires - Tread & Air Pressure. Rotate Tires If Needed. Check Steering. Check Suspension.
- Can't I just get the code read at a parts store?
- A code reader shows you the code, not the cause. The same code can come from several different problems, and testing tells us which one you have.
- How long does diagnostics take?
- Many problems are found the same day. Faults that come and go can take longer, and we'll keep you posted.
- Will the light go off after the repair?
- Usually, once the cause is fixed and the system confirms it. We'll explain what to expect for your vehicle.
